The low-profile standard jaws permit sharpening much smaller knives than the originals and also allow for much lower sharpening angles on all knives. ...and yes, they are compatible and will work in older models of the KME system.
With exceptional grip strength and increased stone clearance, the low-profile standard jaws permit sharpening a wide range of blade sizes and shapes.
Saber grinds, full flat grinds, and even full hollow ground blades are held securely with no need to tape or shim the blades.
NOTE: These low-profile jaws are included with the KME knife sharpening systems.
